The British Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper, stated that the United Kingdom is "ready to respond" to provocative or unexpected violations of NATO airspace, in response to recent tensions generated by Russia. This comes after American President Donald Trump asserted that aircraft illegally entering NATO airspace should be shot down, a position to which Cooper responds with a promise of vigilance and a firm response on the air security front.
