Cristian Volpato, 22 years old, was stopped by police in Sydney for driving 50 km/h over the speed limit, being recorded at 109 km/h on Anzac Bridge. After the stop, he was subjected to a drug test which showed a positive result for cocaine. His driver's license was suspended for six months, and a second sample will be analyzed. Volpato was stopped earlier, two hours prior, and received a fine for exceeding the speed limit by more than 20 km/h, but he had a negative alcohol test. The player, who plays for the Italian club Sassuolo, represented Australia at the World Cup, having a remarkable journey after changing his nationality from Italy.
