During recent meetings, high-ranking negotiators from the USA and Ukraine stated that they had constructive discussions regarding the conclusion of the war in Ukraine, emphasizing that progress depends on Russia. Steve Witkoff, the special envoy of the USA, and Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of former President Donald Trump, stated that a long-term peace agreement requires a serious commitment from Russia, including measures to de-escalate tensions. During the meeting, the parties agreed on a framework for security arrangements and discussed deterrence. Previous discussions in Moscow did not lead to a compromise, and the two-day meeting was the sixth round of negotiations in the last two weeks. The negotiators will meet again in Florida to continue the discussions.
