Jerry Greenfield, co-founder of Ben & Jerry's, has decided to leave the company after nearly 50 years, citing tensions with Unilever, the brand's owner. In an open letter, Greenfield emphasized that Unilever has restricted the company's freedom to address social issues, such as the conflict in Gaza. Although Unilever promised the brand's independence at the time of the acquisition in 2000, Greenfield believes that this has disappeared. Unilever, on the other hand, stated that it disagrees with Greenfield's perspective and maintains its commitment to the values of Ben & Jerry's.
