The Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, announced that a special envoy from China will be sent to the Middle East to mediate the escalation of conflicts in the region.

In phone discussions with his counterparts in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Wang emphasized the importance of peacefully resolving issues and protecting civilians in conflicts. He also called for the respect of maritime route safety and warned against attacks on non-military targets.

In contrast, the Pentagon chief, Pete Hegseth, stated that the U.S. is focused on stopping Iran's nuclear ambitions, considering Russia and China irrelevant to this issue. These two countries have close ties with Iran and have criticized U.S.-Israel attacks, calling for their cessation.
