The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that between February 3 and 12, it conducted 10 attacks on over 30 Islamic State sites in Syria, as part of the 'Operation Hawkeye Strike' campaign. These attacks targeted ISIS infrastructure and weapon depots, using precision munitions launched from aircraft, helicopters, and drones. The campaign was initiated in response to the killing of two American soldiers in December in Palmyra. Additionally, between January 27 and February 2, five more attacks were carried out against ISIS sites and logistical hubs. CENTCOM reported that over 50 ISIS terrorists were killed or captured during these operations, which targeted over 100 sites in the last two months. These attacks occur in the context of the gradual withdrawal of the U.S. from Syria, and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized the importance of a permanent ceasefire in the northeast of the country.
