Carnival Cruise Line has been ordered by a federal jury in Florida to pay $300,000 to a former passenger, Diana Sanders, after she suffered a possible brain injury due to excessive alcohol consumption. Sanders, a nurse from California, was served over 14 shots of tequila during a cruise on the Carnival Radiance. The incident occurred on January 5, 2024, when she fell down the stairs, suffering multiple injuries, including a concussion. Her attorney highlighted the dangers of all-inclusive packages that encourage excessive alcohol consumption. Carnival stated that it disagrees with the verdict and intends to appeal. Additionally, another similar case is underway, involving a suspicious death on another cruise ship.
