BYD, a Chinese company, has announced an investment of 94 million dollars to set up a new factory in Komarom, Hungary, with the aim of tripling production of electric buses and trucks. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto pointed out that this is BYD's third major investment in Hungary, following the opening of the first European plant in Szeged and the creation of an engineering center in Budapest. This expansion strengthens Hungary's position as a European leader in electric vehicle production.
