A four-story building collapsed in Athens during work on a neighboring building.

Following the collapse of a four-story building in the Petralona area of Athens, during works being carried out on a neighboring building, rescuers continue the search to check for victims under the rubble, after intervention dogs detected a trace of scent. The building had seven apartments, and initially, four people were reported missing. Three of them managed to save themselves, and a student was found on vacation in Nafplio after contacting her family following the incident. Residents claim that the building did not present structural problems, and a neighbor managed to warn those in the area shortly before the collapse. In this case, authorities have detained five people involved in the construction works, including the owner of the neighboring building and several engineers, to determine the causes of the incident.
