The Chinese authorities announced that, starting from February 17, British and Canadian citizens will be able to travel to China without needing a visa, a decision that will be in effect until December 31.

This measure applies to holders of ordinary passports and allows entry into China for business, tourism, visits to relatives or friends, exchanges, or transit, for a period of up to 30 days. The announcement follows official visits made in January by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to Beijing, where they discussed strengthening bilateral relations with China in the context of rising tensions with the U.S. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this decision aims to facilitate exchanges between citizens of China and other countries.
