Josep Borrell will stay in Lebanon until Sunday to emphasize the need for diplomatic efforts with regional leaders, as tensions in the region worsen following the death of Hamas leader Saleh al-Arouri, killed in a drone strike in Beirut. His visit coincides with that of US secretary of state Antony Blinken, which has the same purpose.
