The former national security advisor of the USA stated that Europe should get involved in the conflict in Iran, emphasizing that the war is also theirs, considering the geographical proximity and economic dependence on stability in the Gulf. John Bolton criticized both Donald Trump's decision not to consult European allies before the war and Europe's reaction, which worsened the situation.

He mentioned that tensions between the USA and Europe affect the transatlantic alliance, especially in the context of support for Ukraine. Bolton dismissed the idea of a European army, emphasizing that Europe lacks strong political leaders or the necessary capacity to manage crises on its own.

He also highlighted that Europe should be more aware of the threats from China, in the context of current international relations. At the same time, Chrystia Freeland, former Canadian Deputy Prime Minister, warned that the rift between the USA and European allies complicates the collective position towards China.
