The National Trade Union Bloc (BNS) harshly criticized the emergency ordinance regarding the measures applied in the field of fuels, warning that state interventions can affect the market economy and deepen the recession.
Trade unionists believe that capping the commercial markup is not a viable solution and propose reducing excise duties and VAT to temper price increases. BNS emphasizes that limiting the commercial markup is an "anti-market measure" that worries investors and does not protect the population. Additionally, BNS draws attention to the already high fuel prices in Romania compared to other European states and proposes a temporary reduction of VAT on fuels, similar to the measure implemented in Spain.
Trade unionists warn that current measures do not help the population and that the state must abandon administrative interventions to avoid additional social costs. BNS suggests a mix of measures to stabilize prices without affecting budget revenues.
