A beaver family has rehabilitated a military site in the Czech Republic, saving the state over €1 million.

The Brdy site was to be turned into a wetland, but a beaver family was quicker and did it all for free. The project was delayed because of land disputes and the beavers' action saved about €1.19m. Czech officials appreciate the beavers' role and say they don't expect any conflicts in the next decade.
