Avtovaz, known for its Lada brand, is announcing the possible implementation of a four-day work week from September in response to a 25% drop in sales and high interest rates affecting car loans. The company faces stiff competition from Chinese imports, which now account for over 50% of the Russian car market. Avtovaz, with more than 30,000 employees, has applied similar measures in the past and received state aid to avoid massive layoffs. The final decision will be taken after a detailed market analysis.
