Automobile Dacia’s plant in Mioveni produced 23,355 vehicles in September, recording a 19.55% decline compared with the same period last year, according to data analyzed by Profit.ro. The figures confirm a reduction in the production rate of approximately 100 vehicles per day.

The decline in activity comes amid slowing demand both on Romania’s automotive market and across European markets. The volume reported for September represents the plant’s second-steepest monthly decline since the beginning of this year, excluding August.

In August, production was affected mainly by the retooling period, when the Mioveni plant was largely shut down. However, the September data indicate a reduction in activity even after operations resumed.

The production trend at Mioveni reflects the pressures facing the European automotive industry, as demand for cars has slowed and manufacturers adjust their volumes according to the orders received. Calculations for the entire month thus confirm previous information regarding the slowdown in Dacia’s manufacturing pace.
