A tragic aviation accident occurred in central Mexico, where a small aircraft, a Cessna Citation, crashed near the city of Toluca, in the industrial area close to the local airport. Civil protection authorities have confirmed that at least seven people have died, and three others are missing. The plane had taken off from Acapulco and was heading to Toluca, with two crew members and eight passengers on board, including three children.
The last communication from the pilot with air traffic control was alarming, as he announced: "We are crashing." Witnesses reported that the pilot attempted an emergency landing on a football field, but the plane hit the ground at high speed, causing a fire and damaging a truck repair shop. The cause of the crash remains unknown at this time.
