A man was killed on Tuesday, in the eastern Pacific, during an operation conducted by the American military against a vessel suspected of drug trafficking. This incident is part of the military campaign launched by the United States in September 2025, aimed at combating the drug trafficking networks that fuel the American market.
The American military command for Latin America and the Caribbean (SOUTHCOM) confirmed that the targeted vessel was involved in drug trafficking operations. Following the attack, a member of the narco-terrorist group was killed, and two men survived. The action has generated controversy, with criticism from international experts and UN officials, who accuse extrajudicial executions. Since the beginning of the campaign, over 200 people have died in these operations, and the American administration has not presented clear evidence regarding the involvement of all targeted vessels in illegal activities.
