The incident happened on Friday night when a man attacked the East Melbourne synagogue, where about 20 people were in the synagogue and all evacuated safely. Firefighters responded quickly to extinguish the blaze. Australian police have not released the identity of the suspect or the motives behind the attack, which is part of a series of hostile acts against the Jewish community in Australia.
