Thailand's acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai said the clashes have intensified, involving heavy weapons and spreading to 12 locations along the border. Thailand has accused Cambodia of attacks on civilian areas, evacuating localities within missile range, while Cambodia has accused Thailand of using cluster munitions, banned in most countries. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim offered to facilitate negotiations between the two countries, welcoming the openness shown by both sides.
