Mayor Sándor Orbán from Hungary was injured in a shooting attack in his office in Nagytevel.

On Tuesday morning, a shooting took place in the office of the mayor of Nagytevel, Hungary, when a man entered with a gas pistol and fired at Mayor Sándor Orbán. According to the publication InfoPápa, two of the three shots hit the mayor, who was urgently transported to the hospital in Győr, suffering from head injuries, but his condition is not critical.

The mayor managed to leave the town hall on his own feet. The police apprehended the perpetrator, a man of advanced age with mental health issues, who was stopped by the office staff. The incident occurred in a building shared with a kindergarten, where about 20 children were shocked by the sound of gunfire, and the educators quickly evacuated them through the window.
