Diosdado Cabello, the interior minister of Venezuela, stated that 100 people died as a result of the American attack that led to the removal of Nicolas Maduro from power. Venezuelan officials claim that a large part of Maduro's security contingent was killed 'in cold blood', and Cuba confirmed that its military and intelligence agents in Venezuela were among the victims. Although Caracas has not provided an official number of those killed, the army previously published a list of 23 names. Cabello mentioned that the attack was devastating, causing a similar number of injuries. As a result of these events, Cabello declared a week of mourning for the members of the army killed in the raid.
