Taulant Toma, a 41-year-old Albanian known for his escape skills, managed to escape from the maximum-security Opera prison in Milan. Convicted of robbery, theft, and drug trafficking, Taulant Toma has a sentence valid until 2048, but he decided to expedite his release. The alarm was raised on Sunday morning when the guards could not find him in his cell during a routine check. Preliminary investigations show that Taulant Toma cut the bars of his cell window and, using knotted sheets, reached the prison's inner courtyard, from where he climbed the surrounding wall. Authorities are analyzing footage from surveillance cameras to reconstruct his movements. This is Toma's fourth escape, having been caught every time, with his last escape occurring in 2013.
