Afghanistan became Russia's biggest importer of flour in 2024, as its imports doubled from the previous year to nearly $80 million. This comes at a time when Afghanistan lacks the domestic capacity to meet demand for flour and Russia is keen to strengthen relations with the new Taliban government.
