A floating formation covered with trees and vegetation was observed on Lake Williston in Canada, and images captured by the Sentinel-2 satellite later confirmed its existence. The formation, resembling a small island, was initially seen about 100 kilometers west of the W.A.C. Bennett Dam, after which it disappeared and was later identified in the Ospika River. Authorities believe that it may have detached from the shore after the water level in the reservoir reached maximum capacity for the first time in the last 14 years, but the exact origin of the "island" has not been established.
