On Monday, a preliminary magnitude 7.2 earthquake occurred off the coast of Japan, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency. Authorities issued a warning about the possibility of a tsunami with heights of up to three meters that could affect the northeast coast of the Japanese archipelago. The earthquake was recorded by the American agency USGS with a magnitude of 7.6 and occurred at a depth of 53 kilometers, with the epicenter located 73 kilometers east-northeast of Misawa. The earthquake took place at 11:15 PM local time, equivalent to 4:15 PM Romanian time. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and inform the population about potential risks.
