A 5.2 magnitude earthquake occurred on Saturday morning in the Van province of eastern Turkey, at local time 08:52 (05:52 GMT), at a depth of 7 kilometers.

According to DPA and Xinhua agencies, no human casualties or material damage have been reported so far. This region was previously affected by a devastating earthquake in 2023, followed by an extremely strong aftershock, which resulted in at least 50,000 deaths and massive destruction, especially in southeastern Turkey and northern Syria. Local authorities are monitoring the situation, but so far there is no additional information about the impact of this earthquake.
