On Sunday night, the Greek island of Zakynthos was shaken by a 4.1-magnitude earthquake in the Ionian Sea, 74 km southwest of Volimes, at a depth of 10.5 km. No casualties or significant damage were reported, according to the Institute of Geodynamics in Athens. Zakynthos had previously suffered a devastating 6.8 earthquake in 1953, which resulted in the almost total destruction of the island.
