The number of police officers dismissed and excluded from the police forces in England and Wales has increased by 24% in the last year, reaching 735 excluded officers, compared to 593 in the previous year.

The most common reasons for dismissal were dishonesty (126 cases), discriminatory behavior (95), and illegal disclosure of information (82). Sexual offenses against children were involved in 21 cases, and abuse of power for sexual purposes was mentioned in 31 dismissals. The Metropolitan Police had the highest number of dismissals, with 183 officers excluded.
