A man from the village of Plopu, the town of Ianca, died from meningitis caused by the West Nile virus, having significant comorbidities. Four other people from the county are hospitalized with moderate forms of the disease, but they are recovering. The Braila Public Health Directorate emphasizes the risks of the virus and recommends strict protective measures against mosquitoes, the main vector of the infection. The Ministry of Health is monitoring the situation and encourages the population to follow prevention rules.
