PNL Senator Nicoleta Pauliuc stated that the Senate recently voted on an ordinance that excludes the first day of unpaid medical leave for patients included in national health programs, as well as for those who are hospitalized. Additionally, caregivers of cancer patients who benefit from legal medical leave are also exempt from this provision.

Pauliuc emphasized that this modification corrects an injustice, stating that illness should not be considered a fault. She highlighted the need to combat abuses in the healthcare system, but insisted that the state should not penalize the suffering of patients. The senator promised to continue supporting balanced measures that protect patients and their families, while imposing clear rules to prevent fraud.
