The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, sent a clear and firm message to the medical staff in the Intensive Care Units, emphasizing the importance of hygiene and patient safety. He urged the staff to refrain from wearing false nails and jewelry, including wedding rings, during interactions with patients. This measure is intended to prevent infection risks and ensure a clean and safe environment in medical units.
"I am not only referring to the hospital gown, but also to wearing jewelry and false nails and other such items in Intensive Care, because they present and represent a true vector, if you will, for the transfer of pathogenic germs from one patient to another. You know that a group has recently formed, I don't know how to characterize it, an action against the Minister of Health, called 'We won't give up our wedding rings.' I say very clearly: give up your wedding ring in Intensive Care. Of course, if there is a very strong emotional attachment to the ring, it can be kept in the pocket, but not on the hand," said Alexandru Rogobete on Sunday, at Antena 3 CNN.
