The Novo Nordisk company is stopping the production of human insulin pen-type insulin syringes, affecting people with type 1 diabetes.

People with type 1 diabetes who depend on human insulin made by Novo Nordisk will instead be given glass vials and syringes - said to be inconvenient and harder to use with the same precision. Novo Nordisk has already stopped supply in South Africa, where patients have had to switch to glass vials. Novo Nordisk's decision is linked to its favoring of the marketing of the slimming drugs Ozempic and Wegovy.
