The Ministry of Health has announced that individuals showing symptoms suggestive of infection with hepatitis B or C viruses can be tested for free, regardless of whether they are insured or not. This measure aims to facilitate early diagnosis, thus reducing the risk of transmission of infections.

The free tests include both testing for hepatitis B virus and for hepatitis C virus. Additionally, the HIV test is free for pregnant women, as it is part of the standard pregnancy monitoring protocol.

Testing is carried out based on a referral from a family doctor or specialist. This initiative aims to quickly identify infected individuals and improve public health.
