Every summer season, the Romanian seaside is a central topic for the online press and social media, reflecting the public's interest in a very popular tourist destination, but also in related events and phenomena. Once again this year, relevant online sources have produced, from the beginning of the summer until now, almost 11,000 mentions about the seaside, identified and processed with the help of NewsVibe, an AI platform for media and social media monitoring.
Discussions about the seaside reached an estimated total impact of more than 230 million potential views, with peaks of visibility influenced by topics from a variety of thematic areas.
The highest intensity of debate was on August 15, St. Mary's Day, which coincided with a mini-holiday and Navy Day and was the start of the busiest weekend on the coast.
Another high point came on July 22, when former ANPC chief Cristian Popescu Piedone was picked up by authorities from a seaside hotel and brought to DNA for questioning.
Finally, a burst of media and social media exposure was also generated by influencer Selly's announcement of plans to build a new resort on the Romanian coast.

- The central area of the online conversation includes general references to the interest of Romanians in this holiday destination, prices, conditions and quality of services, as well as comparisons with other favorite seaside destinations - such as Bulgaria and Greece.
- A secondary segment within the broader discussion of the seaside includes references to the main resorts, the most intensively mentioned being Constanța, Mamaia, Costinești, Eforie Nord and Mangalia.
- The topic Piedone - ANPC occupies a separate cluster of the debates, very well populated with mentions, because before the investigation that targeted the head of the institution, there was also a consistent mediatization of the controls carried out at commercial establishments in this region.
- A separate area of discussion of the coastline clusters references to the weather, with ANM at the center, with multiple details about air and sea water temperatures.
- Finally, a quantitatively small but well-delimited segment of the online conversation was built around transport options to the seaside, with a major focus on rail transportation, represented by entities such as CFR Călători and Trenurile Soarelui.
