A spokesperson for the European Executive announced that the decision to extend the new fiduciary management regime of Rosneft's subsidiary in Germany will be applied indefinitely, replacing the previous six-month extensions. Rosneft's German subsidiary controls the PCK refinery, essential for fuel supply to Berlin and eastern Germany, including for airports and the chemical industry. The German government took over the financial management of this subsidiary in 2022, in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which deteriorated long-standing bilateral energy relations. Rosneft did not provide a comment to Reuters' requests.
