Teresa Anjinho, the European Ombudsman, criticized the European Commission on Friday for 'poor administration' in the context of refusing a journalist access to a message sent by French President Emmanuel Macron to the President of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. The message refers to the EU-Mercosur agreement and, according to the Commission's statements, it has been deleted, which has generated controversy.

Anjinho emphasized the importance of transparency in European institutions and called for clarifications regarding the management of official documents. This situation has sparked reactions from the press and transparency advocates, highlighting the challenges related to access to information within European institutions.
