Romania's acceptance into the OECD Committee for Chemicals and Biotechnology will improve environmental protection and public health, according to the Ministry of Environment.

Diana Buzoianu, representative of the Ministry of Environment, announced that Romania's acceptance into the OECD Chemicals and Biotechnology Committee is a significant step for environmental protection and public health. This offers Romania the opportunity to contribute to the development of international public policies. The Ministry of Environment, together with other institutions, coordinated the evaluation of Romania, analyzing the legal framework and policies regarding the management of chemical substances and biotechnology. Romania aligns with OECD standards, implementing measures to strengthen institutional capacity, conducting systematic inspections, and combating illegal trade in pesticides. These actions aim to create a safer and more sustainable environment.
