The City Hall of Sector 2 has managed to remove over 70,000 tons of waste from the lakes of the Colentina River, in order to improve the banks.

Efforts to clean up the lake wilderness were part of a larger shoreline development project that will include a 27-kilometer walking circuit, bike trails, recreation areas, playgrounds and pontoons for water trails. Squatted land has also been cleared and work is now underway to secure expertly designed solutions.
