Firefighters in Gorj have responded to over 20 vegetation fires in the last 48 hours, dozens of hectares have been affected.

The fires have occurred in several localities in Gorj and the damage to the environment is considered irreparable. Since the beginning of the year, ISU Gorj was called to intervene to extinguish more than 350 vegetation fires, most of which were probably caused by open fires used to burn plant debris or to sanitize agricultural land.
