US agency NOAA has announced that 2024 has a 77% chance of becoming the warmest year on record. Both NOAA and the European agency Copernicus emphasize the alarming situation of exceptional monthly temperatures. The month of July 2024 was 1.21 degrees Celsius above the 20th century average, marked by heat waves in Mediterranean and Gulf countries.
