The Department for Emergency Situations (DSU) has announced a high avalanche risk (risk level 4) in the Făgăraș and Bucegi Mountains, at altitudes over 1,800 meters, following the nivometeorological bulletin issued by the National Meteorological Administration.

A new layer of snow of 10-15 centimeters is forecasted, with additional deposits of 15-20 centimeters, and conditions favor the formation of wind slabs and unstable layers. Medium and large avalanches are possible, including those triggered by overloads.

At altitudes below 1,800 meters, the risk is 3, and at lower altitudes, the risk is 2 (moderate). DSU recommends avoiding exposed routes, using appropriate equipment, and adhering to the warnings from Salvamont.
