The weather in Romania remains particularly cold, with temperatures below climatological averages and snowfall in various regions. The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued a warning valid until February 11, including Yellow Code alerts for snowfall, strong winds, and frost, especially in the east and south of the country.
Between February 9-11, precipitation is expected to be predominantly in the form of snow, with water quantities of 5-10 l/m² in Oltenia and a snow layer of 5-15 cm. The wind will intensify conditions, with gusts of 45-50 km/h in the southwest and up to 70 km/h in mountainous areas, causing blizzards and reduced visibility.
In Moldova and eastern Transylvania, temperatures will be 6-9 degrees below normal, with maximums between -7 and -3 degrees Celsius and nighttime minimums of -14 to -10 degrees. In Bucharest, cloudy skies and light snowfall are forecasted, with maximum temperatures of 1 degree Celsius. Meteorologists recommend caution in traffic and appropriate equipment for the winter conditions that will persist.
