The incident took place on May 18 during the second round of the Romanian presidential elections. The man, known to have health problems, died at the polling station in Mehedinți county. Voting started at 7:00 am in the country and Romanians living abroad started casting their ballots at 10:00 pm Romanian time on Thursday. Voting may be extended for those in line at the closing of the polls.
