Following Romania's presidential election, won by Nicușor Dan, right-wing tech tycoons such as Elon Musk and David Sacks are challenging the state of democracy in the country. Sacks denounced the result as "statistically improbable", insinuating fraud, while Musk amplified accusations of censorship of conservative voices. The US embassy congratulated the new president, but did not comment on the positions of the two.
