Elon Musk hails the AfD’s victory in the Saxony-Anhalt election: “Well done!”

Elon Musk congratulated the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party on its victory in the regional elections in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, where the party won 43.8% of the votes.

The billionaire’s message was published on the X platform after AfD co-chair Alice Weidel congratulated the party’s candidate, Ulrich Siegmund. “Bravo!” Musk wrote in German, commenting on the post.

Siegmund replied and thanked him for his support. In a message written in English, the AfD leader told Musk that the party would welcome cooperation with him if it came to govern the state.

“If we assume responsibility for governing Saxony-Anhalt, we would welcome an opportunity for strong and constructive cooperation,” Siegmund wrote. He maintained that Germany would once again become an attractive place for investment and wished Musk “all the best” from Saxony-Anhalt.
