Ahead of the local elections in Bucharest, Cristian Popescu Piedone said he had been contacted by PSD politicians and offered to withdraw and support Gabriela Firea's candidacy. Piedone rejected the proposal, saying he could not withdraw from the race as his name is already printed on the ballot papers.
