In the first eight hours after polling stations opened in Romania, 5,128,718 Romanians voted. Of these, 2,912,947 were in urban areas and 2,215,771 in rural areas.

In comparison, in the first eight hours of the 2019 presidential elections, in the first round, 5,321,324  voted in urban areas there were 3,124.810 votes, and in rural areas there were 2,196,514 ).

In the 2024 presidential elections, in the first round, in the first eight hours, 5,272,798 Romanians voted in the first eight hours (in urban areas there were 2,920,753 votes, and in rural areas there were 2,352,045 votes.)
