<p>Marine Le Pen, leader of the 'National Assembly' party, has announced her support for George Simion, the AUR candidate, in the second round of the Romanian presidential elections scheduled for May 18. She emphasized that Simion, who obtained more than 40% in the first round, represents a national awakening movement in Europe. Le Pen criticized the annulment of the first round of voting by the Constitutional Court as a violation of voters' freedom. Simion, on official visits to Italy and Poland, continues to promote a sovereignist and nationalist agenda.
