Nicușor Dan won the elections with 53.6% of the votes, while George Simion got 46.4%. Ilie Bolojan expressed gratitude to the citizens for their turnout, regardless of their political preferences, and thanked the organizers for the smooth running of the elections. The difference between the two candidates amounted to 829,697 votes and Dan had 55.16% of the votes.
